Did you know that errors on your airway bill can cause your shipment to be delayed and in the worst instances, "NON-DELIVERABLE"?

With some airlines, the airport WILL NOT LET THE TRANSPORTATION DRIVERS PICKUP THE LOAD WITHOUT A HARD COPY OF THE AIRWAY BILL (AWB)! That's right! Even though we are living in a digital world with information moving digitally in seconds; there are some carriers that absolutely WILL NOT release the cargo with the HARD COPY AWB.

In addition, there are some common things to keep in mind when preparing and forwarding your AWB to your drivers. Make sure that your Airway Bills have the COMPLETE NAME of the carrier. Also, make sure the COMPLETE AIRWAY BILL NUMBER is on the AWB.

For example, airlines such as Air France, and KLM absolutely WILL NOT RELEASE THE CARGO without the AWB - PERIOD! It's an extra expense in terms of time & money for your driver to have to leave the facility, seek out a Fedex Office, Satples, etc and have them print out the hard copy AWB, then return to the airport. This common oversight cause time and money.

While many airlines will accept an electronic version of the AWB on the driver's phone, there are still some airlines that will not. By being prepared, we can keep the logistics pipeline moving along efficiently.
